I don't even know where to start. First of all, the drive to Cleveland from where we live was so easy even though we went through three major cities. Second of all, we weren't vending this time so it was like a vacation in a lot of ways. Once we got to the hotel it was a matter of pulling into the parking lot and then going in to check into our room. That's it! We NEVER have it that easy when we're vending. We check in, load our things into the room, get our passes and then waited with friends until the debauchery officially began. Walking into the vendor hall seemed like just yesterday we had been there, but it was definitely different this time.
Because we weren't vending, it was high time to start drinking right away. Hey, when friends are handing you booze and beer and you enjoy drinking are you going to turn it down? Didn't think so. I felt good Friday, let's just say, and it wasn't long before I started meeting new friends and bonding. Never before had I really been this buzzed on a Friday and surprisingly enough I wasn't too hungover Saturday morning. Then I did just as much drinking Saturday night, if not MORE!
Okay, okay so the parties are legendary there, but the bottom line is we are all there for a reason - a true love of HORROR! I could go on and on about the weekend but that would make this blog too damn long, it would take up all of my night, and really, you need to be there to understand the experience.
